(Moscow). The State Board of Education today approved the appointment of Dr. Todd Schwarz as the new Administrator of Professional-Technical Education for the State of Idaho. He will oversee professional-technical education at high schools, colleges and universities throughout the state.

Dr. Schwarz most recently served as the Dean of Technical Instruction at the College of Southern Idaho. Schwarz, a 1981 graduate of CSI, was hired by the College in 1988 as a drafting instructor. He later established the Internet Technologies program at CSI, became chair of the Information Technology and Trade and Industry departments before being selected as Dean of Instruction.

“This is an exciting opportunity, and I’m looking forward to supporting and advancing professional-technical education programs throughout the state,” said Schwarz of his new position.

“Todd brings invaluable experience and vision to the agency,” said Idaho State Board of Education Executive Director Mike Rush. “We were fortunate to have such a highly qualified candidate ready to take the lead.”
