Board Meeting Open Forum Request Form

The Idaho State Board of Education is committed to transparency and values input from the public. Open Forum provides an opportunity for individuals to share comments with the Board during regular meetings.

To request time to speak, please complete and submit the Open Forum Request Form at least 48 hours prior to the meeting. Open Forum is not held during special meetings.

Each speaker is typically allotted up to three (3) minutes. Depending on the number of requests or the number of individuals wishing to speak on the same topic, time limits may be adjusted, or speakers may be asked to designate a representative.

Before submitting your request, we encourage you to review the following guidelines:

Open Forum is intended for general public comment and is not used for personnel matters, individual complaints, or partisan political issues.
Topics that have already been the subject of a public hearing may not be eligible for additional comment during Open Forum. Written comments may still be submitted.
Any materials you would like the Board to review should be submitted at least 48 hours in advance.
Board members do not engage in dialogue during Open Forum. Comments are recorded and shared with appropriate staff as needed.

Speakers will be called during the meeting and asked to state their name and, if applicable, the organization they represent.
