Proficiency Level Descriptors

A proficiency level descriptor (PLD) is a description of what students know and are able to do by content area, grade, and level. The bulleted PLDs were adopted by the Board May 30, 2007. The summary paragraphs will appear on the indivdual student reports.

Content Standards with Limits

The State Board has adopted the Content Standards, but not the Content Limits. The Content Limits guide test development and are useful to Idaho teachers and from time to time, are adjusted. The content limits will assist teachers in designing instruction at the appropriate cognitive demand. Each standard is coded for Cognitive Level.
