Microcredentials are awarded for mastery of defined skills or concepts including career technical and academic skills which can be earned during high school. Microcredentials are most often distributed as digital badges.
Starting in 24/25, postsecondary institutions may award prior learning credit for stacked microcredentials. Former high school students completing TCC badges may be awarded credit by August 31, 2026 when they matriculate to the participating postsecondary institution.
