Cybersecurity Resources

Addressing cybersecurity threats can be a daunting task. Fortunately, there are many resources available to help you. If you have any questions or concerns about cybersecurity please contact the IT Security Coordinator.

Where do I begin?

Begin by:

  1. Surveying your current environment,
  2. Identifying industry best practices and standards, and
  3. Evaluating gaps between your environment and these standards.

Two notable organizations have developed packages and toolkits to help in this effort; the Critical Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), and the K-12 Security Information eXchange (K12 SIX).

Cybersecurity Pilot Program

Action Items
Application Window Open September 17th — November 1st 2024

To apply for the Cybersecurity Pilot Program, schools must complete the Form 484 Part 1 by logging into EPC and waffle-menu button in the top-right corner of your landing page. If it does not appear, please have your account administrator update the EPC User Permissions.

The Cybersecurity Pilot Program is not an ongoing source of funding, however it is a significant research effort so the FCC can understand how to integrate these services into future E-Rate funding cycles.

We encourage all interested schools to apply so that rulemakers may better understand the unmet cybersecurity needs of Idaho schools. Applicants should understand that they may not be chosen as Participants in the Pilot Program. Any services funded by the Cybersecurity Pilot must first be procured through competitive bidding via a Pilot Form 470 (or “P-470”). Information about the P-470 will be announced by the FCC and/or USAC at a later date.
